Underwear and car tuning
Seems like there's more to life than cheese...Citroen, underwear, pigs (more on that later), cows (had my fair share of them already in this life but since they're everywhere....) and friends.
I have a thing for Citroens for quite some time now - it's not the name of the company, it's the design and engineering that goes in them that I love: DS, CX, C4, C6 - each special in it's own way. About 4 years ago I started to search for an old but decent CX - couldn't find one yet so, after a loooong time, I decided to buy the C4 - not before doing some collateral damage: Habib was easy to convince - he's weird, the C4 is weird - perfect match! It only took me two days to get him buy one (he's one of the first to buy one in Romania, actually). Sammy got to see the light after trying every other car :) - a smart and informed approach but still, in the end, I helped him a bit to decide on buying the C4. Actually, we both bought them the same day - same model, same color. Now he loves it so much that it almost scares me :)
I pretty much covered the friends and Citroens parts - now the underwear: my car used to make some funny noises (somewhere in the left door) so, some months ago, I took it to the dealer to have it fixed. It wasn't really fixed (well, just a bit) until the pig came into play - that happened on April 22nd at my and Lenin's birthday party - that will be a separate post, let's just say that the party involved pigs. The guys (I'm sure Sammy had this evil ideea) decided to make me a nice present and bought me 2 sets of car speakers to replace the rather weak default ones.
Sammy had his speakers replaced already, had the tools, the know-how and, since he made me that present, he had to replace mine too :) That's what friends are for, I guess! I'm pretty good at breaking things and putting them back myself but I do admit (doesn't happen that often) that Sammy was great! He took more care of my car that I could have took myself - he pretty much did all the work and I only took pictures (follow the link to see the whole 'tutorial' on how to DIY)
Remember the underwear and me going to the dealer to 'fix' the noises part? That's picture 1 and 2 - they used some kind of fabric or......well.......underwear, to cover some plastic cables that were kind of loose. The last image shows Sammy next to the 'underwear replacement' solution we came up with :) - it's not red, it doesn't have little hearts but it's better!
So, if you also hear funny noises in your C4 and don't agree on having 'underwear' and 'tunning parts' in the same sentence, let me know about it. If I can't help you, Sammy sure will!
